Reception for Patric Dickinson, Richmond Herald on 13 November 2001
Mr. Dickinson, a graduate of Oxford University where he was President of the Oxford Union in 1972, began his career in heraldry as a research assistant to several heralds between from 1968 to 1978, when he was appointed Rouge Dragon. He became Richmond Herald in 1989, Treasurer of the College in 1995 and Earl Marshal's Secretary in 1996. He is a barrister (Middle Temple, 1979), serves as Vice-President of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives and of the Society of Genealogists, and is Hon. Treasurer of the Bar Theatrical Society. He was granted arms on 2 March 1984 as follows: Per saltire dovetailed argent and azure in pale two lymphads sails furled pennons and flags flying gules. Motto: DIC IN SON HONESTIS.
